SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS

Intensive Therapy

Intensive therapy provides focused treatment over a condensed period of time, helping children make meaningful progress while empowering families to continue that progress at home.

Whether your child is working toward head control, rolling, sitting, standing, or walking, intensive therapy provides the repetition and consistency needed to help children reach their greatest potential.

  • 3–4 week programs

The Science

Why a Focused Approach Matters

Children learn best through repetition and consistency. Daily therapy allows each session to build on the last, creating momentum that's difficult to achieve with traditional weekly therapy.

This consistent practice supports motor learning and neuroplasticity, helping children build strength, improve movement patterns, and gain confidence.

IS IT A GOOD FIT?

Is an Intensive Right for Your Child?

An intensive may be a great fit for children who:

  • Have a developmental or neurological diagnosis.
  • Are working toward an important motor milestone.
  • Have reached a developmental plateau despite ongoing therapy.
  • Demonstrate persistent reflexive movement patterns that interfere with functional movement.
  • Have a complex diagnosis requiring a more focused treatment approach.

Family Testimonials

What Families Are Saying

Robyn, Travis, and their daughter

DMI intensives have been nothing short of life-changing for our daughter.

Not only has she met major gross motor milestones during the intensives we have done, but they have resulted in huge growth in her fine motor and speech development as well.

Intensives are an essential part of her care, and have helped us believe that anything is possible for our girlie!

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is an intensive?

Our most common intensive program consists of one-hour sessions, five days per week, for four weeks. However, every child is different. Customized intensive programs, including one-, two-, and three-week options, are also available when appropriate based on your child's needs, goals, and tolerance.

Does my child continue weekly therapy?

It depends on where your child currently receives therapy.

If your child receives therapy at Let's Grow, some families continue occupational therapy during an intensive. We'll help determine what's appropriate based on your child's goals and tolerance.

If your child receives therapy at another clinic and plans to use insurance for their intensive with us, we typically recommend pausing weekly physical therapy during the intensive to help avoid insurance billing conflicts. We'll discuss your individual situation and help determine the best plan.

How do I know if my child is ready for an intensive?

Every child is unique. We'll consider your child's diagnosis, current abilities, therapy history, goals, and family schedule to help determine whether an intensive is the right fit. If we don't believe it's the right time, we'll tell you honestly and discuss other options that may better support your child's progress.

Will insurance cover intensive therapy?

Insurance coverage varies depending on your individual plan and benefits. Our team is happy to discuss your coverage and answer any questions before scheduling.

How far in advance should we schedule?

Because intensive therapy openings are limited, most programs book 9–12 months in advance. We recommend following our Instagram page for announcements about future availability.
